Sunday, March 5, 2006 | Printer Friendly Printer Friendly

AWN is proud to make available for purchase the E-book by Oscar-winning animator Gene Deitch entitled How To Succeed In Animation, (Don't Let A Little Thing Like Failure Stop You!). Deitch's book is a must read for animation newcomers and veterans alike. The book presents Gene's highly idiosyncratic and obstinate views as to what animation is all about. Much of the information has never before been published, with many never before seen illustrations. Part "how-to" manual, part history lesson, How To Succeed In Animation, (Don't Let A Little Thing Like Failure Stop You!) gives practical guidance on all aspects of the animation process, with real-life examples culled from the countless unique experiences of Gene's legendary career.

You can check out the book online at GeneDeitch.AWN.com. The online-book site has a simple, easy-to-navigate interface designed to give readers complete, searchable access to the entire book manuscript. Readers are invited to comment, argue and contribute, thereby creating an interactive dialogue with one of the true animation greats. Interesting contributions will be incorporated into the book and credited.
